I’ve been experimenting with screen printing this week. I tried a few different variations using thin fabric screen from Amazon and cutting my designs using my Cricut. I haven’t nailed down a foolproof process yet, but I’m getting close!

Made it through the first Craft Fair of the season! This is an annual market at a local historical society and I believe it was my third year in attendance. As always, I had a wonderful time meeting other makers, talking about my art, and enjoying the perfect weather. Unfortunately, the foot traffic was quite slow and I didn’t make as many sales as I had in previous years. Luckily I’ve already signed up for more markets this summer, and I’m looking forward to those. This side of my life has never been about the money (which is good - I’m a terrible business owner) so I’m happy for any sales to help support my craft addiction. I have a full time job during the week which allows me to make whatever I want in my anrt practice and not have to follow trends, custom orders, or pieces that don’t inspire me.

After revamping my pottery studio, I’m finally getting back to work on making wheel thrown pottery. I’m using my slab roller for the first time and I love how easy it is to make stamps and plates. I’m loving these hobbit door mugs that I’m making in preparation for an adult book fair in July! Kelsea Minneapolis, MN
